Assembly, use and dismantling. Compliant with Québec's Construction Safety Code (CSTC) and CNESST standards.

Before assembly

  • PPE worn: hard hat, harness if erecting > 3 m, boots, gloves

  • Stable base — mudsills/timbers + screw jacks in place

  • Components inspected: frames, cross-braces, locks, platforms

  • Erection perimeter marked — no entry under scaffold

  • Engineer drawings available if height > 18 m (CNESST)Critical

    ℹ️ Engineer drawings mandatory and to be submitted to CNESST

  • Cross-bracing on each side of frames

  • Vertical locks secured if > 2 frames high (> 3 m)

  • Tied to wall if height > 3× minimum base width

  • Full guardrails: top rail (1 m), mid rail, toeboard (100 mm)Critical

    ℹ️ Top rail at 1 m, mid rail, toeboard 100 mm minimum

  • Platform within 350 mm of structure, clear width ≥ 480 mm

  • Load capacity respected — no excessive storage

  • Access by interior ladder or stairway — never via cross-braces

Disassembly

  • Disassembly from top to bottom — reverse of erection

  • Parts lowered — no free fall of components

  • Components inspected, sorted and stored for reuse

  • Area cleared and cleaned
