Installation of membranes, shingles and roofing. Compliant with Québec's Construction Safety Code (CSTC) and CNESST standards.

Before work

  • PPE worn: full harness, hard hat with chin strap, non-slip boots

  • Anchor points verified — strength ≥ 18 kN

  • Perimeter guardrail installed within 2 m of edgeCritical

    ℹ️ Guardrails mandatory when working within 2 m of roof edge

  • Access ladder secured, extending 900 mm above edge

  • Weather conditions checked — no rain, ice or high wind

  • Rescue plan for falls documented and known to team

  • Fire extinguisher at hand if torch / hot work

  • Worker continuously tied off — CNESST zero tolerance > 3 mCritical

    ℹ️ CNESST zero tolerance > 3 m — immediate stop if non-compliant

  • Propane cylinders upright, secured and away from flame

  • Materials stored away from roof edge

  • Openings (skylights, hatches) covered with secured lid

  • Regular hydration if working in sun (see heat checklist)

After work

  • Fire watch rounds if hot work (60 min minimum)

  • Collective protections restored

  • Debris removed — nothing left loose on roof

  • Roof access secured to prevent unauthorized entry
