Thermal insulation of pipes and equipment. Based on Québec's Construction Safety Code (CSTC) and CNESST standards.
Before work

Risks and prevention — Insulation and lagging
Insulation work exposes workers to irritating fibres (mineral wool, ceramic fibres), burns from hot pipes, and ergonomic risks from awkward positions. Fibre OELs are in RSST Annex I. Site respirators follow the risk assessment and, if silica is presumed, CSTC 3.25.6.
Before insulating existing pipes, determine asbestos types (CSTC 3.23.3). Site asbestos work is 3.23, not a separate “CNESST regulation”.
