Risks and prevention — Glazing

Glazing work exposes workers to glass cuts, falls during façade installation, and hazards from handling heavy, fragile panels. The CSTC requires a fall protection plan for all façade work.

Vacuum lifters must be inspected before each use and rated for the glass weight. Tempered glass panels can spontaneously break due to thermal stress or nickel sulfide inclusions. A ground-level safety perimeter is required during high-rise installation.
