Before work

  • PPE worn: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, hearing protection

  • Lockout of all energy sources (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic)Critical

    ℹ️ RSST art. 185 — individual lockout mandatory, one lock per worker

  • Residual energy bled off — zero energy verification

  • Installation plans and manufacturer manuals reviewed

  • Lifting equipment verified if moving heavy parts

  • Work area marked and access restricted

  • Shaft and coupling alignment verified with precision instruments

  • Bolting to specified torque — torque wrench used

  • No exposed rotating parts — machine guards in place before test

  • Lubrication per manufacturer's specifications

  • Connected piping verified — no leaks under pressure

After work

  • Functional test performed — rotation, vibration, temperature verified

  • All machine guards reinstalled before commissioning

  • Locks removed in order — last lock = person responsible for test

  • Installation report completed with alignment records
