Risks and prevention — Plumbing and piping
Plumbing work exposes workers to burns (propane soldering, hot water), cuts from tools and piping, and biological contamination when connecting to wastewater systems. RSST requires appropriate protection against biological agents.
Work in crawl spaces and basements may involve confined spaces with gas accumulation (radon, methane, H₂S). Gas detection and mechanical ventilation must be ensured before entry and during work.
