Risks and prevention — Refrigeration and HVAC

Refrigerants can freeze and asphyxiate in a confined space. Handling follows the SDS, the Mechanical Refrigeration Code and, if confined, CSTC 3.21. Not a named RSST+Code pair. OEQ / CCQ cards are other regimes.

Rooftop unit installation combines fall risks, heavy lifting (crane), and weather exposure. Electrical connections must comply with the Electrical Code and be made de-energized.
