Lighting, fatigue and reduced visibility. Compliant with Québec's Construction Safety Code (CSTC) and CNESST standards.

Before work

  • Temporary lighting installed — min 50 lux for circulation, 200 lux for detailed work

  • Fatigue management plan in place — rotations and breaks planned

    ℹ️ Working at night increases accident risk by 30% (CNESST)

  • Regular breaks respected — 15 min every 2 hours minimum

  • Shadow zones and blind spots eliminated — reposition lighting if needed

  • Noise limited per municipal bylaw — noisy work planned for start of shift

  • Buddy system — no one works alone in an isolated zone

  • Extra caution during equipment manoeuvres — reduced visibility

After work

  • Security lighting maintained until last person leaves

  • Site secured for the night — fences, barricades and signage

  • Next shift informed of work completed and ongoing hazards
