Why daily inspection — Portable generator
Portable generators pose risks of electrocution, carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning, and fire. RSST requires adequate grounding and prohibits use in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces. CO emissions are the leading cause of generator-related deaths.
Pre-use inspection must cover: cord and plug condition, grounding, fuel level (never refuel while running), GFCI protection, area ventilation, and emergency shutoff function.
