Risks and prevention — Hazardous materials (WHMIS)
WHMIS 2015 (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) is mandatory on all Québec construction sites. Every controlled product must have a GHS label, an accessible Safety Data Sheet (SDS), and workers must receive training on specific hazards.
Common site products include: solvents, adhesives, resins, concrete treatments, paints, and strippers. Storage must respect chemical incompatibilities and ventilation requirements. Transfer containers must be labeled per WHMIS requirements.
