Risks and prevention — Drywall taping and finishing

Drywall taping and sanding produce significant fine dust that may contain talc, silica, and other irritant particles. RSST requires local ventilation or at minimum an N95 mask during mechanical sanding.

Work at height on stilts or rolling scaffolds increases fall risk. Stilts are only permitted under CSTC conditions on flat, clear surfaces. Prolonged dust exposure can cause chronic respiratory issues.
